These teams met on Ibrox Park to decide their Inter-City League fixture before an attendance of about 3000. Starting against a strong wind the Thistle were early forced on the defensive, but gradually they opened out and for the first half hour had as much of the game at their opponents. Nearing the interval Speedie got a well place ball from A Smith, and he shot straight and fast, the ball going into the net. Crossing over with the score 1-0 against them, the Thistle were not long in getting to touch sent a well placed corner by Muirhead was headed into the net by Wilkie.
