Match Trivia

Played at Ibrox Park before about 10,000 spectators. St Mirren had a strong wind at their backs in the first half and had several good tries at goal, but Dickie saved splendidly, and Hamilton opened the scoring for Rangers from a grand centre by Walker. St Mirren equalised ere the interval, Lindsay beating Dickie close in. Halftime – Rangers 1: St Mirren 1. Play in the second half was very keen, both teams playing with great energy and determination, but though Rangers had most chances to get in the lead they failed badly near goal. The Saints with their strong go-ahead style got away on several occasions, and Dickie was beaten close in. Near the call of time Rangers settled better, and Walker who had worked hard all through scored the equaliser. Result – Rangers 2: St Mirren 2. Gate money £227; stand £28, total £255
