Match Trivia

This game took place on Ibrox Park before about 6000 spectators. This game was only about two minutes in progress when Taylor scored owing to a misunderstanding between the Rangers backs. After Skene had been tried unsuccessfully on several occasions Speedie beat him with a long shot. When apparently offside Smith went off at great speed and scored. Play was fairly even till halftime. Haltime – Rangers 2 goals: Queen’s Park 1 goal. On resuming the Queen’s tried, but vainly to get on terms of equality. Settling down the home team quickly put the issue beyond doubt. Paton scoring from good work by Hamilton, and then Hamilton single-handed getting a point after brilliant play. The Queen’s did their best to improve their position, but they found Dickie unbeatable. Near the close Hamilton all but scored again. Result – Rangers 4 goals: Queen’s Park 1 goal. The total drawings amounted to £150
