Match Trivia

Played at Ibrox Park before about 6000 spectators. Rangers won the toss and Prior started for Third Lanark, and for a tine the latter played a strong game, but were unfortunate near goal, and once missed a perfect chance in their eagerness to score. Play was not of a high standard later on, and seldom had either of the goalkeepers much to do. Halftime – No scoring. In the second half both teams improved considerably, but there was always a lack of finishing power on both sides, the forwards seldom putting in good shots. Third Lanark played a hard game to win for with a draw they could have no chance of the championship, and in the closing minutes they were several time very near securing a victory, but the Rangers defence stood up to their work well, and saved the game. Result – A draw no goals
