Match Trivia
Played on the ground of the Clyde at Shawfield, before a large attendance, some 10,000 including many ladies, being present. The gate money came to £225 and the Stands £25. The weather was exceedingly warm, and the football was naturally not of the fastest description. The Rangers showed by far the superior football, and at halftime led by 5 to 1. The first goal was scored by McPherson, Hyslop (who was the best of the Rangers forwards) had the second and third, the fourth was from a scrimmage, and the fifth was by A Smith. The Clyde goal was taken by Thomson from a penalty against N Smith. In the second half each side scored – Robertson for the Rangers with the best shot of the match, and Dunlop for the Clyde – and the game ended in favour of the Rangers by 6 goals to 2
