Match Trivia

These clubs played a Glasgow League fixture at Ibrox Park last night, before about 3000 spectators. Rain fell before the start of the game and the ground was in a slippery condition. The Clyde won the toss, but shortly after the start Rangers scored through McPherson, Campbell scoring the equaliser five minutes later. Long of the Clyde got injured and took no further part in the game. McPherson scored a second for the home team, and close on halftime Miller added a third, the Rangers leading at the interval by 3 goals to 1. Play in the second half was very uninteresting both teams playing very tamely. The Clyde were seldom dangerous, and the Rangers forwards lost several chances through hanging too long on the ball. Miller added a fourth goal for the Rangers, who after this had all the best of the play. In the closing moments Paton got injured, and play was stopped for a few minutes. An unexciting game ended in a win for the Rangers by 4 goals to 1.
