Match Trivia

The Rangers appearance ay Maxwell Park does not call for any particular notice, save that the Cameronians proved themselves to be a shade stronger than was anticipated. The ground was all against a scientific display, and the Rangers finding themselves safe, did not exert themselves as they would have done had they been confronted with more pretentious opponents. The Cameronians defence was the best part of the team, and they kept their opponents at defiance much more than the Rangers forwards expected. Still the latter, despite the numerous free kicks that came their way, for infringements of an order usually seen in a junior match, always seemed to have a lot in reserve. Physically, the Cameronians are not a bad-looking lot, and on a good field they might rise above their present station. The Rangers scored twice in each half and won comfortably. McKenzie at goal, Cowan and McBride at back, Clark at half-back, and McKnight forward were the pick of the home team.
