Match Trivia

Played at Ibrox Park, before 2000 spectators. Two minutes after the start Henderson scored the first point for the Rangers. On restarting, it looked as if the light blues would score a second time, but the Morton’s defence was all there. From a run on the right Gillespie equalised. Play was all in favour of the Rangers, who added a second point, Henderson again doing the needful. The Rangers pressed severely after this, but were unabale to find an opening. The Morton twice broke away, and scored on each occasion. At halftime the Morton were leading by 3 goals to 2. The second half was hotly contested, the Rangers laying a greatly improved game. The Morton seldom got past midfield. No scoring was effected till near time, when Miller put on a third goal for the Rangers. Result – 3 goals each.
