Match Trivia
The final tie in connection with the Rangers and C.H. sports on Saturday was fought out at Ibrox last between the Rangers and the Celtic. The Rangers played a vigorously at the start, and the first two corners fell to them, which, however, they were unable to convert into major points. Playing up Dowds scored the first goal for the Celts near the end of the first half. Hardly had the second half started than the green jerseys swarmed round McKenzie, and a goal was claimed which was not allowed. At the other end, from a pass from the left, Wyllie unfortunately headed over the bar, and a good chance was lost. Again Hamilton sent in a swift and deadly shot, but a Celt’s body came in the way of the ball, and it rebounded into play only to be got away by the Irishmen, who scored their second goal, Dowds again giving the ball the final touch. Both teams played with great dash, and promise well for the season. The game resulted – Celts, 2 goals; Rangers 0
