Played at Ibrox, Battlefield having lost the toss Robb kicked off for his team, and the ball was immediately worked up to the Battlefield goal, but sent past. A corner kick for the Battlefield resulted in nothing, the ball being got safely away. The Rangers now transferred the play to Battlefield territory, and kept hovering in the vicinity of their goal posts for a little, but again danger was averted, and the ball sent past. From a scrimmage, some thirty minutes from the start, Johnstone scored the first goal for the Rangers. From the kick-off the Rangers pressed, and twice called upon Neil to save, which he managed to do, and halftime resulted – Rangers 1 goal, Battlefield 0 goals. On resuming, the Battlefield had a look in, but the ball was sent over. Ultimately, from a scrimmage in front of goal, Cunningham equalised the game. Play was therefore transferred to Battlefield territory, and the ball was kept travelling about there for some time. Breaking away, however the Battlefield forwards paid Ritchie a visit, and keeping the ball there Hector scored a somewhat soft goal. From this to the call of time nothing further resulted, and the game ended – Battlefield 2 goals, Rangers 1 goal.
