Match Trivia
Played at Barrowfield Park Bridgeton. The Clyde kicked off with the sun in their faces. The first feature was a corner kick for the Rangers, but the ball was sent over, and a second was of equally little use. The Clyde were very fortunate in the matter of free kicks, and runs on the left wing were numerous, but Gow seldom let anything pass. The first really dangerous attempt at goal was made when Chalmers, having fallen in kicking out, Sawers just managed to save at the expense of a throw-in. the first twenty minutes were warmly and evenly contested, but then the Rangers began to press; but Chalmers proved an efficient custodian. The Rangers had a corner kick, and although this was unsuccessful, the ball had not left the home team’s end of the field before the Rangers sent in a shot from a few yards in front of the posts, which Chalmers managed to return, but Aird again sent it in, and grazing the inside of the posts, went through. With change of ends the Clyde did the pressing, but their attempts failed, and swooping rapidly down the right the Rangers snatched a second point. In the last ten minutes play became brisk, and the home team scored in a scrimmage. Sawers equalise a few minutes later. The last few minutes were most exciting, but the result was – a draw 2 goals each
