Match Trivia
About two thousand person witnessed a match between these two clubs in Kinning Park. The home team winning the toss played for the first half with the wind and sun in their favour. In four minutes they scored a goal from the foot of Pringle. After this the Vale played with equal determination and frequently attempted to score but Gillespie was too well on the alert. Just before ends were charged the Rangers scored another goal. It was disputed but allowed on appeal. In the second half the Vale made a goal and struggled hard to equalise matters, but failed so that the match ended in favour of the home team by two goals to one. The two McIntyre’s, Young, Vallance and Gillespie performed some brilliant work for their side. The Vale forwards were in splendid fettle with the one exception JC Baird’s dexterous efforts were not at all supported by his old neighbour who had been laid aside the whole season from a serious injury and who on this occasion did little more than throw in the ball. His appearance was indeed a test to whether he retained any of his old capital form
