Match Trivia

Played at Ibrox Park before 4000 spectators. The Rangers lost the toss and kicked off against the wind. H McCreadie at once got on the ball and passed. Steel had a chance to shoot, but he was tackled by Mirk, and the ball went over the line. For a time after this play was confined to midfield. A free kick against the Saints helped the Rangers, who again made tracks for Patrick, but McBain relieved. The Rangers defence was severely stretched to keep their charge intact. Twice in succession Smith conceded corners, but neither had an effect. At last the change came. Getting the ball in midfield, Gray cleared Brown, and passed to Steel, who in turn gave Mirk the slip and with a long shot he landed the ball in the net. First goal for the Rangers. Shortly afterwards the Rangers scored another goal, and at halftime led by 2 goals to 0. The second half was all in favour of the Rangers, who scored other 3 goals, and won by 5 to 0
