Match Trivia
This match came off at Kinning Park. The game resulted in a victory for the “light blues” by five goals to nothing. During the first half the Parkgrove aided with the wind in their favour made the game very lively no advantage being gained on either side until from a run by Watson and Hill of the Rangers the ball passed to James Campbell who scored a well earned goal against the wind. The Parkgrove followed up their kick off had a scrimmage in front of the Rangers goal which was neatly relieved by Marshall. Two corner kicks in their favour soon followed from one of which Brittain headed the ball into the hands of the keeper thus being the only shot he was called on to save during the entire game. At change of ends the game became very much one sided and in rapid succession the Rangers scored four goals. OF the Parkgrove players Wallace (back) was undoubtedly the best man. Armstrong and Campbell at half back played with precision; while Docherty, Brittain, Miller and Hutchinson shone out amongst their forwards. Of the Rangers McIntyre distinguished himself at halfback. Vallance was also in good form; while amongst the forwards the brothers Campbell, his wing players left nothing to be desired. Hill and McNeil backers up did some good work; while Marshall and Watson as centres played judiciously
